HILO HATTIE CLOSES NIMITZ AFTER 35 YEARS OF SHARING ALOHA

October 26, 2015

October 26th, 2015 – Hilo Hattie officially closed the doors of their flagship Nimitz store today. It had been the company’s flagship location for 35 years. To say mahalo for all the years of community support, the store’s employees and Mr. Kang, the company’s CEO and President, took to the streets.
“We just wanted to show our appreciation,” said Donald B.S. Kang, President and Chief Executive Officer of Pomare, Ltd. “We couldn’t have made Hilo Hattie the largest shopping attraction in the state without the help of the our loyal customers, travel partners, and the community.”
Hilo Hattie made signs and waved to cars as they passed. A hula show was preformed by Halau Ke‘ala O Ka ‘Iliahi. Both visitors and kama‘aina turned out to celebrate the next chapter in the company’s history.
Hilo Hattie wants to remind the public that they will continue to operate three stores at Ala Moana Center, The Outlets Of Maui in Lahaina, and Lihue, and today they launched a brand new website along with a special offer – anybody who subscribes to Hilo Hattie’s newsletter will get free shipping on their first online order anywhere in the USA.
